Am I Gone?

It has been a while since I posted here. I have not completely abandoned this poor neglected blog of mine. But I have evidently abandoned my dedication to spending time that nurtures thought. That makes me sad.

As I drove home tonight, I was awestruck by the moon-lit mountains. The fair, pale, reflected light that the moon casts down upon the snow-dusted peaks makes those peaks appear completely different than they do in the direct sunlight. I can't think of much that competes with that beauty on this earth.

But as the hymn-writer has wisely noted, Jesus shines fairer, and Jesus shines purer than all these things. Purer and fairer than the silver moonlight and the glow of the mountains.

Someday, we shall see face to face. That will be a wondrous day indeed.
